I was an insurance agent for over 30 years...sold the business and retired. That was almost 15 years ago. After what seemed a lifetime sitting behind a desk I wanted to do something with my hands, and knifemaking seemed a good fit as I have always appreciated their function and beauty...at least regarding the ones I collected.Anyone can buy a cheap knife that will cut, but I wanted to make knives that I enjoyed having in my hand; knives and leather that were classic and beautiful like a well cut suit or a hat that fit just right, and knives that didn't cost an arm and a leg to own.I love beautiful and dramatic wood, and so nearly all of my knives have wooden handles. I make a real leather sheath that fits each knife. They are usually simply tooled and most often have a calf or kangaroo lace edge. My knives are not "factory perfect"...they're hand made...there may be flaws but I doubt you will see them. If a knife won't meet my requirements, I won't sell it to you.
